Land Of Tech Update for 2012

Happy 2012 everybody!! Hope you all had a great one.

2012 is going to be a big year for Land Of Tech! Last year wasn’t the very best but this year lots are going to change, for the better!

December 30th I released a beta or Pilot of the Land Of Tech Show just to see how my viewers like it, and they all liked it, some loved it also. So I’m going to announcing that this year the Land Of Tech show is coming back! There will be shows at least once a week, it all depends on the tech news. So if it’s really dry with nothing to report on, no show.

Besides the Land Of Tech Show coming back this year, I’m also going to be doing iOS Application Videos again along with Mac and sometimes Windows videos. The frequency of these videos will most likely be once a week.

Tutorials are still going to be there along with reviews. I’m going to try and do more tutorials, again posting once a week. As for product reviews, as of now it will probably be like once a month but that can and will probably change as we progress into 2012.

Thank You all so much for sticking with me, this year at Land Of Tech is going to be big!!!

Want to go retro and use the original YouTube video viewing page? Then this post is for you!!!

Now you may be asking, “so how do I do this??” Well, first you need to have chrome or a browser that uses chromium (like Rockmelt).

If you don’t use Chrome, then you can use Opera but I didn’t show how to install it using opera so you’ll have to use the instructions on the webpage.

Once you have the needed browser you need to download and install the extension. Download Retro Viewing Page

and that’s all!

It’s snowing in YouTube Land

Any videos uploaded on December 22nd or later will have the “snow option” which is snow falling in the video and a snow flake scrubber (is that what it’s called? I forgot).

The snow falling is an option you have to click and is located in the bottom right corner, the snow “scrubber” is automatic.

Samsung and Google canceled Android Headset Launch because of Steve Jobs death

The launch of Ice Cream Sandwich, and a new Android phone, was supposed to go down this Tuesday (Oct. 11th).

However, they canceled the event saying

Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.

The reason it was canceled was unknown, until AllThingsD reported, that Samsung and Google did cancel the event due to the death of Steve Jobs.

The companies said in a statement

We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing,” the companies said.

It is now unknown when ICS and Android Headset will be unveiled.

Jailbreakme.com jailbreak tool taken offline

Jailbreaking tool, jailbreakme.com took its tool offline and displays the following image as a tribute to Steve Jobs who died October 5th 2011.

Hours after Apple announced his death, tributes have been popping up all over, with Google doing a minimal Steve Jobs, 1955-2011 to the whole front of an Apple Store covered with sticky notes, flowers, photos, candles etc..

New iPhone App – Cards

Today at the Let’s Talk iPhone Apple event, they announced Cards, a custom card app. You design the Card on your iPhone

and then Apple will print it. It costs $2.99 to be mailed anywhere in the US and $4.99 anywhere in the world.

Then when your card has been delivered, you will get a push notification.

If you care to know, They will print it on high quality 100% cotton paper.

This service launches October 12th, 2011 (of course).

What happened to the Annual Apple Music Event?

For the past couple of years, Apple would have their Music Event every September and would announce new iPods (and sometimes other things). This September is almost over and there has been no word about a Music Event, instead there were iPhone event invites sent out but the invite says “Let’s talk iPhone.”

With wording like that, iPod news is unlikely, unless they put it under the “One more thing.”

Current rumors are that Apple will be killed the iPod Shuffle and iPod Classic. In my opinion, I could see the death of the shuffle with the Nano filling its shoes. Now with the Classic, as it’s the only iPod with that big of storage, I think they will just keep it but “shove it under the table.”

That’s all for my thoughts on this subject.
